Dessert for Breakfast? Absolutely! My caramelized Pick-A-Part Bread

Dessert for Breakfast? Absolutely! Butterscotch Pick-A-Part Bread

Our food philosophy comes directly from the fact that my son-in-law swore that he would never stay at another B&B after a trip to Napa, California.

My daughter Marie and her husband Scott took a trip to scenic Napa and stayed at a very plush Bed and Breakfast there.   As couples are wont to do on a scenic vacation, they slept in, had leisurely baths, and wandered down for breakfast long after the sun had risen.

And they learned that this particular B&B in Napa, CA, gorgeous though it was, did not indulge the late-waker, the lazy wanderer, the late-to-breakfaster.  For the food — such that may have existed earlier in the morning — had long been picked clean by the time our lazy couple made their way downstairs.  The frittata had been long since eaten, biscuits were gone, not even a smush of butter had been left.  Only coffee and one scrawny muffin remained.

And thus Scott avowed that he hated B&Bs.  “Forget quaint,” he declared.  “I need food.”

Fresh fruits and yummies

Armed with this bit of wisdom, we aim to make sure you never feel shortchanged by that second “B” in ”B&B”.  We fix good helpings of our breakfast treats.  We make nice comfort food.  Tasty stuff.  Indulgent yummies.   And we will serve it to you at our “standard” decent-human-waking-hour of 9:00 AM.
