About Canyon Lake
Right Around the B&B
Mellow out in the sheltered hot tub outside your door. Walk down to the nearby public boat ramp for picnicking, sunbathing, swimming, or fishing. You can launch your boat from the ramp.
The local deer population is always interesting to visitors.
Enjoy nearby Comal Park, just over the hill and around the corner from our B&B. There is a nice swimming area, and an offshore island to explore.
Here’s a picture of the view from the B&B.
In the Immediate Area
There are a number of fast and slow food eateries just down the road, and other places within a short distance.
Take a walk across Canyon Dam. Or the very nice South River Trail (trailhead is near the dam).
Tube on the Guadalupe River (ten miles or so away, depending where you are going).
Take a scenic drive along the Guadalupe river to New Braunfels (River Road). Not recommended on a weekend - too much traffic.
Additional activities: rent a boat; parasail; ride horseback; scuba dive.
The WORD Web site. Water sports in the Hill Country. Also, see what the weather is doing.

Or, just take off and explore the Texas Hill Country.
New Braunfels and Gruene
Pleasant historical towns about twenty miles away from our B&B, with an evident German heritage. New Braunfels hosts the ever popular Schlitterbahn water park. Landa Park in New Braunfels is quite pleasant.
Gruene “Gently Resists Change” and offers interesting shops and places to eat in town and on the river, including the oldest dance hall in Texas.
San Antonio
Historic, friendly, and beautiful San Antonio is about forty-five miles away (roughly), depending on where you are going. It’s about 35 miles to the airport.
The Alamo, of course, and the old missions and the Riverwalk. The Zoo, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World, etc., etc. The zoo has a wonderful butterfly exhibit.
